Thunderduck sports kick off fall semester

While most students have been preparing to start school, Thunderduck sports have been hard at work preparing for their respective athletic seasons.

Following scrimmages against Pear River Community College  Aug. 7 and Pensacola State College  Aug. 9,  women’s soccer brought alumni back for their alumni game Aug. 11.  The team finished their preseason scrimmages against the Texas Spurs and Austin College.

Women’s soccer was scheduled at press time to  their next game on Aug. 27,  at home against Louisiana State University – Eunice at 7 p.m. The men’s soccer team has also been in action with scrimmages against Texas Wesleyan, University of the Incarnate Word, Tulsa University and the University of Texas at Dallas.

At press time, men’s soccer’s was scheduled for  Aug. 30  at home against Midwestern State University.

Women’s volleyball started their preseason with a scrimmage against Dallas Christian College Aug. 13.   The gym was packed Aug. 20  as the Thunderducks hosted Dallas College Brookhaven Campus.   Arlington Baptist University, Rose State College and Vernon College in a day of scrimmages. Each team played for an hour each

The volleyball team competed in the Western Texas Classic Aug. 23 for their first official games of the season.
